Oracle Database Health Check Services |
These scheduled health checks are assigned to a dedicated, OCP, qualified
Version Next DBA who performs a detailed health check of the required Oracle
databases and produces a concise and easy to read report that highlights any
issues.
The purpose of the sessions is to ensure that the Oracle solution remains
optimized and that any performance issues can be identified and appropriate
action taken. They generally comprise of 3 hours of time where a thorough
analysis of database and performance can be delivered. Any performance issues
identified will be resolved as appropriate.
The Health check will:-
• Monitor the database performance to ensure maximum performance is maintained.
• Remove unwanted archive log files if required.
• Check log files for error messages.
• Monitor space usage within the database ensuring there is enough free space
for object growth.
• Monitor System Global Area performance.
• Monitor unused Indexes.
• Complete any required maintenance tasks as advised (remove old users, create
new accounts etc.).
• Monitor O/S performance.
• Check Redo Logs and Roll-back segments
A summary report highlighting the status of the system and any recommendations
found will then be created.
